Congrats on taking the step into coaching
Get the Most Out Of Your Coaching
Now that you have made the commitment to coaching, there are a few important things to keep in mind, which will help you get the most out of every session, reach your goals as quickly and easily as possible, and allow you to have fun in the process.
Here is a coaching planning sheet if you haven't already downloaded it. Or better yet, get the template I've set up in Evernote and keep a folder in Evernote.
In a few minutes, you'll receive some autoresponder emails from me with your access to the members area. If technology has worked correctly clicking on the button above should already give you access to the members area. (If for some reason it has gone awry then use the login details you receive in the autoresponder).
Know What You Really Want
Coaching works best when you have clear goals that are based on your needs and values. If you haven't already received it, you'll shortly get an email from me with access to a Trello board and several reflection exercises and self-assessments to complete over the coming days. This reflection should help bring clarity to where you wish to focus.
However, if you're not sure what your goals should be, or exactly where you want to focus, we can discuss them during our first coaching call.
Get To Know Yourself
With coaching don't be surprised if you discover new parts of yourself and if you find your goals adjusting themselves to who you really are.
This discovery process is natural, so you needn't rush it, just realize it will likely happen. Throughout our time together I will ask you to continue to retake the various self-assessments that you are completing in this first week of coaching, feel free to discuss this with me when you wish.
What I Will Help You Focus Upon
Developing a Master Plan for your career and life
Communication which is charge neutral, unconditionally constructive, dances, is light, compassionate, and powerful
Becoming the type of leader who builds a team of "Rockstars" and you get all the results that come with that
Be True to Your Word
I will challenge you and make a lot of requests of you. If you say "yes" then do it. Make it a habit to keep all of your promises to me, no matter what. Having said that, it is not my role to hold you accountable to keeping your promises. That is your responsibility to your self.
If you have any uncertainty about whether or not you can commit yourself to what I am requesting then say "no" to the request and then we can work out what it is you are willing to do. (Saying Yes and Saying No is a skillset I'll be encouraging you to practice in all areas of your life!)
Part of my desire for you is that you have integrity in every area of your life and this is the standard I will hold for you within our coaching partnership.
Challenge Me
Let me know what parts of the coaching are working best for you, and what is not as effective. Ask me to show you more support where you need it and in ways that you really respond to.
Remember I have never dealt with someone exactly like you before and I cannot read your mind.
You are on your unique journey and I will be learning new things with you too.
Be A Model Client
Come to the call prepared, on time and ready to make the most of your time.
Most of my clients prefer to use Zoom or the phone for our coaching sessions. If you prefer the phone, you call me at the appropriate time. With Zoom, I'm generally on the call 5-minutes before our scheduled time and will wait only until 5-minutes after the scheduled time.
If you are more than 5-minutes late, that session will be cancelled. As per the coaching agreement, there is no refund or credit for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to a scheduled session. And, generally I do not do make up sessions, if you don't give 24 hours notice.
If you are consistently late or frequently changing/cancelling coaching sessions, you and I will have a discussion about your commitment to yourself, your growth and becoming a Rockstar leader.
If you and I have discussed a recurring meeting, then please schedule that using the booking button above and selecting recurring. Otherwise please make sure you only use the single appointment option (which is the continue button).
Your coaching call will become a time when you get everything into perspective and make your most important decisions. Therefore, it is important for you to honor your coaching relationship and make it your top priority.
Take consistent, effective and targeted action and be self-responsible regardless of initial results
Be willing to tell the truth, even when it's uncomfortable, no impressing or positioning
Pay ahead of time.
Let me know how the coaching is helping you.
Use our referral system (you will learn more about that during the next week).
Shelley's Role
How Does it Work?
We discuss whatever is important to you. It can include:
Enjoy our Call
We have work to do together, clearly, but feel free to enjoy the call with me.
After several sessions, you may find that we take a little time to catch up on those parts of your life that mean a lot to you, or you may find that we even laugh a lot during the call – at life, how you've grown, how things happen.
Coaching calls aren't gabfests, but they are enjoyable, for both of us. What I mean to say is that coaching needn't be intense or an effort for you to produce the miracles you know are possible.
But feel free to set the tone of the calls and I will respect what you need in this area.
